Jesse Paikin is from Toronto, ON and currently resides in New York City. He is a graduate of York University, where he received his degree in Philosophy, Religious Studies, and Theatre. After spending a year in Montreal studying at the prestigious National Theatre School of Canada, he made the weighty decision to return to the world of Jewish Youth work, thus settling the great debate of the past decade of his life.
Jesse is often inspired, inflamed, enthralled, intrigued, and sometimes pissed off by the various “worlds” in which he lives and works – the Jewish communal world, the theatre world, the philosophical/intellectual world, the Canadian political world, and now the American political world. Hence the philosophical ranting that takes place here.
Jesse is part of an active group of bloggers writing about modern Judaism and young modern Jews in the 21st century. Unless otherwise stated, nothing here should be taken as doctrine or theology – it’s part of a series of ongoing musings. To get the full picture, you should check out the fellow bloggers listed.
Apart from writing this blog, Jesse enjoys playing his beautiful guitars, Chipotle, watching the Food Network, and explaining just exactly why LOST is the most important television show to ever grace the airwaves.
